Hi guys, so tell us a bit more about your new label Dusk Underground Music. How did it come about?
It all started by running a few events in Leeds based on supporting talented DJs who weren’t getting the opportunity to play out. A lot of them started playing out their own productions and the crowd were loving these original songs. So, from there it fell into place that we should start releasing these tracks and getting their sound heard by the public.
What kind of releases can we expect to hear?
We pride our self in being being different than our competitors, our brand is unique and this definitely reflects in the music that we release. Everything we release will have an innovative edge and is guaranteed to stand out. We are already gaining support the likes of Amine Edge, Martin Ikin, Robert Owens and DC10 resident Sossa + many more, so all is going really well so far.
Which other labels are doing it well right now?
Our favourite label out there at the moment is definitely Dirtybird, they are pioneering a new sound at the moment, and we are in love with it. They have really brought that wow factor and not the generic deep house that you can still hear all too much.
What does the future hold for Dusk Underground Music?
We have a lot of goals as well as a long term plan for our brand. We will be making a statement within the industry and and I am sure that our passion will really shine through. We know this takes time, however we have already learnt so much and will carry on doing so. Our plans are just to continue to grow and develop and hopefully be able to make a few peoples dreams of being a successful DJ true along the way.
Have you got a tip for the track of summer 2013?
Jack by Breach is definitely the one for us it has been creating waves all over the scene, let’s just hope it doesn’t go too mainstream.
What would you do as Techno Kittens for the day?
If we ran techno kittens for the day, I’m sure that we would have to give the reigns to ‘The Techno Giz’ (our dog Gizmo). He has always wanted to run a blog and he is a pretty talented writer and I have never met someone with such a good ear for music. He often talks about wanting to take over a cats world and he is thrilled with the idea of the opportunity. He is getting excited about this as we speak:
Maybe he can have control… just for one day?
Well we’re definitely tempted to let Giz take over for a day! Follow Dusk Underground Music on facebook and soundcloud
‘Thinking About You’ by Lee Sanderson is the first release on Dusk and it’s out on 3rd July. It’s atmospheric deep house and a sound that you can expect to hear more of from the label.
