When we saw that Sven Väth was behind this week’s RA podcast we expected pounding, energetic techno. However what Sven has shown us is his softer side. This is the kind of music that Mr Väth unwinds to; indie rock, ambient, Balearic and downbeat. He put the mix together from tracks he’d been listening to on his iPod during his world tour and enjoyed the chance to do something different from his classic style. He said: The theme of this collection is “wind down.” It’s a compilation of new and old music that keeps me company when I’m travelling, at home drinking wine, reading, dreaming and sleeping, hence the title “Privado”.’ We’ve really enjoyed getting a glimpse of what the legend listens to when he’s not up on the decks and it’s gorgeous, dreamy, trippy listening.
