Last week we were picked for the 4th edition of Blogbusters, a feature on the personal music blog of DJ/producer/promoter and Label Manager for Get Physical, Mantu. His blog ‘MantuAsia’ features lots of music reviews, events, charts and interviews from a man who’s been working in the promotions business for 10 years now and definitely knows his stuff. Check it out here and follow Mantu on facebook here. He’s said some super nice things about us that made us blush and also posted the interview on the Get Physical facebook page which was a real treat. Read it below:
Today I’m presenting a London-based blog which is one of the most remarkable blogs you can find online: The Techno Kittens! Everything they write and post about they do it with much love! Passion for electronic music combined with love for kittens brings much sympathy along! It’s definitely worth it to follow Leigh and Nicola on their blog. I am totally amazed by the music they pick and their creative artwork that always brings a smile upon my face! A real pleasure for readers! Therefore let me introduce to you Leigh & Nicola from the amazing Techno Kittens!
How did you discover electronic music?
We both grew up listening to electronic music and discovered the underground scene when we moved to London. In London there are so many good club nights and DJs playing all the time, it’s impossible not to discover electronic music here.
Who started the blog and what is the founder’s story behind it?
We were always sharing music with our friends and talk about it non-stop. The idea came to us on the dancefloor one night, why not start a blog! Nicola is a crazy cat lady and wanted an excuse to draw pictures of cats so throw that into the mix and The Techno Kittens was born.
Can you tell us something about cats and how they connect to your blog ?
We wanted the blog to have a fun USP and cats are one of the biggest, funniest things on the internet, so it just seemed to fit. Cats are also really into electronic music so that helps too. We love getting photos of other techno kittens sent in to us from our readers….there’s a lot of them out there. DJs don’t seem to mind when we graffiti their artwork or even draw them as cats
How many people work for Techno Kittens – how would you describe each other?
There’s just the two of us. Nicola is the creative cat mad one and Leigh is the business brains. We’re both super motivated and love searching for new tracks, so we make a good team. We get very excitable about music and at the weekends you’ll find us out partying together – so really The Techno Kittens is an excuse for us to chat about music and go out clubbing all the time!

Thanks so much for featuring us on your blog Mantu, it was an honour!
PS. We’re working on some new branding at the moment…what do you think?
