The imprint from down under, Untzz, have been relentless in their onslaught of dance floor killers in 2013. The wax only imprint’s sister label is, Big Doint, co-run by Babicka (aka Bradley Shawyer) and HVCK (aka Alex Fimeri) from Adelaide, Australia; they hold down one of the longest running residencies at the legendary Sugar Nightclub, throwing weekly ‘In The Deep End’ parties.
The labels debut EP is nothing short of a tasty burger with three compilation tracks that are all worth taking a solid listen to. Francis Inferno Orchestra starts off with a strong message in, Take No Time. The track is a crunchy compressed jacker, that got me dancing in my seat when it first graced my headphones; if it was a burger, it would most definitely be a half pounder, lathered in mayo, grilled onions, and swiss cheese! The B-sides, Big Doint and Wonderland (Edit), establish a lighter, more melodic faire. Ecstatic in synth use and swing Big Doint is a stipped down delight weighing in at about about 122 bpm. The ode New York 1979 and Paris 1997 emanates in the album finale by Mic Mills, Wonderland (Edit).
As an EP as a whole, this is some of the rawest house I’ve heard in quite a long time. Like most of Untzz’s releases I’m sure that this limited pressing will become a hard to come by affair once it’s out. So, pick it up before it becomes another sought out piece that will cost a whole weeks worth of wages for flippin’ burgers.
Look for the release on November 25th
