Last week we were super happy kitties when we spent a week in Ibiza partying at some awesome opening parties and nights. Here’s what we got up to:

We Love…Opening Party at Space
This was a perfect opener to our Ibiza raving experiences. We got there nice and early to make the most of the our time in the brilliant nightclub. It was just the terrace open when we first got in and the buzz was brilliant, packed with fun and excitement for the night ahead. Smokin’ Jo took the decks and delivered what was one of our sets of the holiday, lots of classic party tunes, lots of personality and lots of build up. Her set earned her a huge round of applause which marked the opening of the other dance floors. We went off to explore the other four areas of the super club and got to see Hot Since 82, Bicep, Joy Orbison b2b Ben UFO and James Zabiela . Stand out sets came from Bicep and Joy Orbison b2b Ben UFO who did the UK scene proud and showcased the amazing tunes being produced here over the past few years plus some awesome classics. We finished the night with the dude Carl Craig winding it down with his trade mark moody techno before taking our tired but happy dancing feet home.
Best for: an eclectic and contemporary mix of artists and a fun festival vibe
oh hi jamie
Circo Loco at DC10
DC10 seems to get more slick every time we go there with new decking, shops and toilet areas but the outdoor terrace area still remains the same with an underground vibe and dance floor rammed to every corner with gorgeous happy people. We braved the sweat pit and raved it up to an awesome set from Jamie Jones who then handed the reigns over to Damian Lazarus for more dirty party tunes. A rough and gritty sound system combined with low flying planes coming over the dance floor has ensured that DC10 retains its urban, outsider appeal.
Best for: big sexy tunes on a sweaty dance floor filled with a cool crowd

Cocoon Opening Party at Amnesia
We hopped straight from DC10 to Cocoon to get there early to meet some of the lovely press team. It was really fun to get there before the crowds descended and get a glimpse of the secret corners and hidden parts of Amnesia that you can’t usually see through the masses. They’ve done a fantastic job with it, lots of indoor trees and plants gave it a wild jungle feel and big bright neon artwork hanging from the ceilings for a true rave atmosphere. The Cocoon opening party got going quickly and the place was pretty packed out within the hour. We floated around in the main room to Guy Gerbers live set which showcased his creativity and was complimented by gorgeous trippy visuals. When the main man Sven took to the stage everyone was ready for some propa pumpin’ techno and Mr. Vath gave his fans what they wanted with an impressive 5hr set of awesome techno tune after tune. A true showman he never stopped dancing away with the crowd and his enthusiasm for the music was infectious. Lasers, ice machines, smokin’ dancers, crazy outfits and fluorescent colours everywhere made this a completely immersive clubbing experience. We danced our hearts out on that dance floor! On the terrace Villalobos was busy wowing the crowed with an equally tight set but Sven was our man of the night. As always, Cocoon did not disappoint!

Best for: a full power techno raving experience

Used + Abused at Ushuaia
For the second week of Loco Dice’s residency we rocked up at about 4pm in blazing 33degree heat and danced around the pool with yummy strawberry mojitos whilst the place filled up. By around 7pm the party was in full flow and the dance floor area (which is covered from the blazing sun thankfully) was packed out but not too busy that you couldn’t move – perfect. The crowd were glam and the tunes from Dubfire and Loco Dice were spot on tech-house for dancing outdoors in the evening. We found a nifty spot on the stage by the dj booth and danced away looking over the crowd and thoroughly enjoying our last night of dancing on the white isle. Used + Abused looks set to be an excellent edition to the island and with a 12pm finish you can feel fresh in the morning for more raving!

Best for: dancing in the sunshine to techno and house and feelin’ glam

So it was quite the week. There are lots of other nights we were eager to try out (many which have not opened yet) so we’ll be back for the closing parties in September to report back on more. Two non-clubbing recommendations that we really loved were Benirrás Beach beach for some blissful zen time amongst the hippies and Amante restaurant for a delicious feeding in the most beautiful cliff side setting imaginable. What a magical island! If you’re off soon – have the best time!
Keep an eye out for the tracks of our week in Ibiza…coming very shortly.
