Tri Angle regular oOoOO (pronounced ‘oh’), aka Christopher Dexter Greenspan, is due to release his debut album on the 24th June on his own imprint Nihjgt Feelings and it’s more of what we love from the San Franciscan. Haunting soulful vocals, ambient sounds and melodic beats. His signature take on the left-field electronic genre warps and weaves synths, bass and samples to create an individual sound that’s ethereal and trippy yet warm and soothing. Opening track ‘Sirens/Stay Here’ showcases Greenspan’s ability to experiment and seamlessly blend sounds to create something emotional and deeply atmospheric, at the 5 minute mark the track drops in some slow bass and warped vocals completely changing the pace, a format used to great effect throughout via short intro tracks and dramatic tempo changes. We love title track ‘Without Your Love’, which sounds like it should be on the Twin Peaks soundtrack, sensual, seductive and lamenting. Greenspan’s love of hip-hop is evident throughout especially in ‘The South’. Where as, the warped twisted vocals and haunting distant bells on ‘Crossed Wires’ are straight out of a spooky ghost film and give us the willies, damn straight! ‘Without Your Love’ is a beautiful follow up to his previous EPs from Tri Angle and will make a very well played addition to your collection. We say go buy!
‘Without Your Love’ is out on the 24th June on Nihjgt Feelings. Pre order here.
