This weekend London plays host to the eagerly awaited Found festival with a lineup and after party that has had us excited for weeks. Featuring the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Deetron, MK, Amine Edge, Waifs & Strays and Joyce Muniz, it’s gonna be one hell of an after party to follow what looks set to be an awesome day festival too.

Ahead of this weekends adventures we were lucky enough to ask Joyce Muniz a few questions…

Hey Joyce, we’re really looking forward to seeing you at the Found Afterparty, is London a city you enjoy playing?

I am looking forward to it too. I’m really excited about playing the after party, the whole line up is amazing, and London is one of my favourite cities. Musically, London has been always important for my sound since i started as a DJ: back in the day it was drum & bass and even now the city still influences me. I like the vibes of the city and the people, i have lots of friends in London it’s always nice to come back

So you’re currently based in Vienna, but from Brazil, what bought you to Vienna?

I came to Vienna with my family as a child.  I basically grew up in Vienna, and got all my influences in electronic music from the city. Of course I will always keep my Brazilian roots, but Vienna has been extremely important for my career and development

You’re an award winning vocalist as well as a DJ and producer, so do you lend your vocals to your own tracks?

No not yet, I have been producing with many different vocalists over the last few years, but somehow I still haven’t managed to finish any tune with my own vocals, especially because I sing in Portuguese and I am trying to do a different combination with my beats and with my vocals. In other words, I’m working on it.

With releases on 2020 Vision, Exploited and Defected you must be pretty happy, what can we expect from you in the near future?

Of course I’m happy. 2020 Vision & Defected are very respected labels, when i started as a DJ those labels were very important, and they still are very important for the house scene, so it’s a pleasure for me to have the chance to work with those labels. As for Exploited, that label is my family, we have all known each other for a while and its really good to be part of this group. I think that production wise, the combination of these 3 labels are very important for my releases . Actually, I just finished my upcoming ep for Exploited. I can’t tell you much more about it but I’m already very excited so stay tuned.

What DJs/producers are getting you excited right now?

I can’t exactly say names, because there are so many good people. I find a good new track from a good new artist almost everyday! On the Found festival line up you can find some of my favourite artists.

And the all important question… if you were a Techno Kitten for the day what would you get up to?

I think I would be a wild techno kitten.

You can catch Joyce Muniz at the Found: The Warehouse After Party – limited tickets are still on sale here.
